The Student Voice of Henrico County

Radio Broadcasting & Journalism course teaches entry-level radio skills as well as the skills to enter the competitive world of broadcast journalism. State-of-the-art studios are used and the most up-to-date broadcasting equipment procedures are taught. Students operate one of the most powerful high school radio stations in the country, Mix91FM.
During the second year, the emphasis is on sharpening journalism skills and the operation of WHCE-FM Mix91FM. Students voice track, digital edit and prepare content for broadcast. Students will also have the opportunity to intern at local area radio and television stations.
